Greater Sacramento Muslim PAC Kicked Off!
In a dazzling display of community spirit and shared vision, the Greater Sacramento Muslim Public Affairs Committee celebrated a successful kickoff event on January 12th. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the event, held at the Tarbiya Institute, saw a healthy attendance that surpassed all expectations. From seasoned advocates to curious newcomers, the crowd represented a cross-section of society united by a common commitment to grassroots empowerment for political change. The enthusiasm and energy in the room spoke volumes about the potential of every individual to make a meaningful impact on a local, national, and even international scale.
One of the highlights of the evening was the stellar lineup of guest speakers who generously shared their insights and experiences. Each speaker brought a unique perspective, adding depth and practicality to the discussions surrounding political activism. The audience was treated to a wealth of knowledge and easily attainable action items that will undoubtedly fuel their commitment to the organization’s goals of political demystification and voter empowerment.
The GSM PAC leadership expressed deep gratitude to the guest speakers for their invaluable contributions. A special thanks was extended to each speaker, and many attending neighboring organizations dedicated to spearheading positive change. Their willingness to share their expertise and experiences underscored the collaborative spirit that is at the heart of the organization’s mission.
The event kicked off with an opening address by Dr. Umer Waris and Dr. Anas Jebrini, who set the tone for the evening by highlighting the importance of collective action in addressing the gap of voter empowerment on a grassroots level. Additional panelist discussions featuring prominent figures in the community and political arenas provided a platform for robust questions between attendees and speakers. Attendees, who took advantage of the opportunity to engage with the speakers through a quality Q&A session, provided feedback that upheld the GSM PAC’s desire to foster a sense of community involvement and empowerment. As the event unfolded, the attendees were not only inspired but recognizably motivated to become active participants in their own journey of personal contribution for the greater good of society. Nearly 90% of attendees have connected with the GSM PAC to get plugged in, volunteer, donate, or otherwise.
As the organization moves forward, fueled by the energy and commitment displayed at the kickoff event, there is a palpable sense of optimism for the positive impact the community can achieve.
